John brings 28 years of expertise in telecommunications, with a focus on network design, construction, integration, and optimization. His distinguished career includes senior management roles at MetroPCS/T-Mobile, Clearwire, and NRTC, where he excelled in engineering and operations. Additionally, John has shared his expertise with leading infrastructure vendors such as Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia.
Recently, John has concentrated on advancing fixed wireless access and fiber-to-the-home technologies, with a particular emphasis on enhancing rural broadband connectivity. His efforts with independent school districts, rural electric cooperatives, and Tribal broadband initiatives have deepened his understanding of the challenges unique to rural deployments. A notable focus has been developing solutions for Indian country to save and utilize the 2.5GHz spectrum for fixed wireless access and in-bound roaming, aiming to serve previously unconnected areas.
John's career highlights include overseeing major cellular infrastructure projects, such as the deployment of 2.5GHz fixed wireless access networks with extensive microwave backhaul, and leading RF engineering design and optimization for both domestic and international markets. Other noteworthy achievements also include managing the installation of a submarine fiber station for Telmex, integrating satellite gateway systems for Globalstar, and pioneering antenna alignment technologies and patents with Sunsight Instruments.
John earned his Bachelor of Science from Christian Brothers University and an MBA from the University of Miami. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his two daughters and exploring new adventures through mountaineering and scuba diving.
